Elder Abuse

An elder/dependent adult abuse restraining order can be requested by any party who is 65 years old or older.  Additionally, any individual between the ages of 18-64 can apply for an elder/dependent adult abuse restraining order if they have mental or physical limitations that prevent them from carrying out normal activities.

Possible acts of abuse include mental, emotional, physical or financial abuse;  treatment that has caused physical or mental suffering; being deprived of adequate care by a caregiver; neglect, isolation or abandonment.

If any of these acts of abuse apply to you or someone you know, you have the right to file a Civil Harassment Restraining Order.  Please see below for more information on Civil Harassment Restraining Orders and your rights.
