A settlement was reached regarding the divorce case of 31-year-old NBA star Dwayne Wade and now ex-wife Siohvaughn Funches during court proceedings on Monday, July 22 in Chicago.
The legal battle, which began in 2007 when Wade filed for divorce, finally ended as the former couple agreed to a financial settlement in which Wade is expected to pay Funches $5 million. Funches was also awarded a mansion in Chicago and four luxury vehicles. Both parties were ordered to abide with a “non-disparage” agreement that prohibits them from making degrading comments about each other in public.
Court records show that long before the settlement was reached, Funches sued the Miami Heat guard regarding not being given her share of the income from endorsement contracts. After the settlement though, Funches’ lawsuit was dismissed.

32-year-old heavy metal vocalist Tim Lambesis of the Christian band “As I Lay Dying” entered a not guilty plea for solicitation of murder against his ex-wife Meggan Lambesis during his arraignment.
San Diego County deputy district attorney Claudia Grasso presented to the court incriminating details of how Lambesis allegedly planned the murder based on an undercover operation that began on April 23. The prosecution added that he wanted his ex-wife killed because she was making it difficult for him to see their children and to move forward with their divorce agreement.
In the former couple’s divorce filing records, Meggan Lambesis claimed that Tim was incapable of being a father to their three adopted children, ages 4, 8 and 10, because of his wild lifestyle as a heavy metal band leader and vocalist.

A new study conducted in Norway has found that divorce is more common among couples who choose to divide household chores, such as cleaning the kitchen and doing laundry, than those who leave those chores up to the woman in the relationship.
Marriages where women do the majority of the household duties are more likely to last, according to the results of this study. Researchers found that couples who split up the duties in the home had a higher divorce rate than those couples where the wife tackled the majority of the household chores.
The data for this study was compiled from 2007-2008 statistics regarding married couples in Norway. The research also indicated that the women who performed most of the household chores were just as happy in their relationships as the women who split up those tasks with their husbands.
